Bitbucket Pipelines

Bitbucket Pipelines is a fiercely competitive, highly streamlined titan built directly into the DNA of Atlassian's Bitbucket Cloud. While Bamboo handles massive, self-hosted, on-premise enterprise deployments, Pipelines was explicitly engineered to be a lightweight, serverless, Docker-based CI/CD engine that requires absolutely zero infrastructure management for cloud-native teams. Its signature feature is "The Docker-First Execution Model." Everything in Bitbucket Pipelines is a Docker container. When a developer pushes code, Pipelines instantly spins up a pristine, mathematically isolated container based on the developer's specified image (e.g., node:14). It runs the tests, and instantly destroys the container. There are no "Build Servers" to maintain, patch, or upgrade, completely eliminating CI operational overhead. It heavily dominates the "Jira Cloud Ecosystem." Because it is an Atlassian product, its integration with Jira is terrifyingly deep. When a pipeline runs, it mathematically detects the Jira Ticket ID in the branch name. The pipeline status, test results, and deployment environment automatically appear inside the Jira ticket, giving project managers absolute visibility into the software release lifecycle without ever leaving Jira.
