Caremerge primarily focuses on the "Quality of Life" and "Engagement" aspects of senior living, rather than strictly focusing on heavy clinical EHR (though it offers clinical modules). It is heavily utilized by Independent Living and Life Plan Communities where residents are generally healthy but expect a high-end, resort-style lifestyle experience. Its flagship product is the "Community Engagement" platform. It acts as a private social network and activity calendar for the facility. A resident can use an iPad (or a dedicated TV channel) to view the daily dining menu, sign up for a water aerobics class, request the community shuttle bus to take them to the grocery store, and message their neighbors. For the facility directors, it provides massive data on resident engagement. If the software shows that a normally highly active resident hasn't signed up for a single social activity in three weeks, it flags the resident as a "social isolation risk." The staff can then proactively intervene, checking on the resident's mental health before severe depression sets in, treating social engagement as a critical vital sign.
