CockroachDB

CockroachDB is a wildly aggressive, hyper-modern disruptor that completely attacked the "Global Consistency Problem." Oracle scales vertically. Cassandra scales globally but mathematically sacrifices data consistency (Eventual Consistency). CockroachDB was mathematically engineered (inspired by Google Spanner) to be a "Distributed SQL" database. It mathematically scatters relational data globally across hundreds of servers, but maintains absolute, mathematically perfect ACID consistency, making it truly unkillable. Its signature feature is "The Multi-Active Raft Consensus." In CockroachDB, data is mathematically broken into chunks and copied to 3 different global servers. When a user in London writes data, the London server mathematically asks the other servers for a vote (Raft Consensus). Once a majority agrees, the data is committed. If an entire AWS data center in London physically burns down, the database mathematically continues operating seamlessly from New York, exactly like its namesake insect.
