Gamma sits somewhere between a traditional presentation tool and a notion-style document editor. The interface feels incredibly fast and lightweight. Instead of clicking through slides to format them, you generally write your content out in blocks, similar to a markdown editor, and the software handles the visual packaging. The AI capabilities here are geared heavily toward saving time. You can paste a giant wall of text—like an unformatted brief or a long meeting transcript—and Gamma will slice it up, synthesize the main points, and distribute them across a visually appealing deck. It also features an AI chat assistant on the side panel. If a slide feels too text-heavy, you can just ask the assistant to "make this shorter" or "turn these points into a timeline," and the layout shifts instantly. It’s completely web-native. Presentations are shared via a link and scroll vertically, which feels much more natural on modern devices than clicking through horizontal slides. This makes it a popular alternative for creating quick project updates, onboarding documents, and portfolios where a static PDF or traditional slide deck would feel too rigid.
