MatrixCare, owned by the medical equipment giant ResMed, is PointClickCare's primary enterprise rival. It offers a massive, end-to-end software suite that covers the entire continuum of out-of-hospital care—from independent living communities, to assisted living, to memory care, to hospice and home health. It is particularly beloved by massive enterprise operators (companies that own 50+ facilities across multiple states) because of its incredibly powerful enterprise dashboarding capabilities. A regional director can log into MatrixCare and instantly see a high-level view showing that "Facility A" has a sudden spike in patient falls, or that "Facility B" is facing a massive nurse staffing shortage, allowing corporate leadership to intervene before a crisis occurs. MatrixCare also heavily leverages its connection to ResMed by focusing on interoperability and connected health devices. The software integrates smoothly with remote patient monitoring tools, allowing a nurse to see a resident's CPAP machine data or connected blood pressure cuff readings directly within the central MatrixCare EHR chart, rather than having to log into separate device portals.
