PlanHub is currently one of the most aggressive, rapidly growing disruptors in the bid management space. It looked at the massive dominance of BuildingConnected and decided to attack the market with a similar "Freemium Network" model, but heavily optimized for the "Sub-to-Sub" and "Supplier" ecosystem, which is often ignored by the massive GC platforms. Its absolute biggest selling point is its pricing structure. It is famously free for General Contractors to post projects. This creates a massive gravitational pull, generating a huge volume of projects on the platform. It is also completely free for a subcontractor to view the project details and submit a bid. PlanHub makes its money through a "Premier" tier that allows subcontractors to download the actual blueprints. It heavily empowers "Material Suppliers." If a local lumber yard logs into PlanHub, they can see every single GC bidding on a new apartment complex. Instead of calling each GC individually, the lumber yard can use PlanHub to instantly blast their lumber pricing to all 20 GCs simultaneously, drastically increasing the lumber yard's chances of winning the materials contract regardless of which GC actually wins the project.
