RackTables

RackTables is a fascinating, deeply respected, open-source veteran that holds a massive, almost cult-like following among "Linux SysAdmins and Mid-Market Network Engineers." While massive banks spend $500,000 on Sunbird, thousands of mid-sized tech companies and startups rely completely on the raw, unpolished, highly effective mathematical utility of RackTables to document their server rooms for absolutely zero licensing cost. Its signature feature is "The Raw IPv4/IPv6 IPAM Fusion." RackTables isn't just about physical racks; it mathematically fuses physical location with logical networking. A SysAdmin can mathematically map a physical server in "Rack 4" directly to its physical switch port, and then mathematically map that physical port directly to its allocated IPv4 address and VLAN inside the built-in IPAM (IP Address Management) module, unifying the physical and logical network in a single, open-source database.
