Realm (ACS Technologies)

Realm is the massive, highly modern, cloud-based flagship product from ACS Technologies, the absolute, undisputed "Old Guard" grandfather of the church software industry. While thousands of massive, legacy churches used the incredibly complex, on-premise "ACS" database for 30 years, Realm is their massive, highly successful pivot to a modern SaaS architecture. Its signature feature is its terrifyingly deep, completely integrated "Fund Accounting" system. Standard businesses use QuickBooks, but churches are non-profits that legally require "Fund Accounting" (ensuring that money donated specifically to the "Youth Group Peru Trip" cannot legally be spent on the electric bill). Realm handles this highly complex, heavily audited multi-fund ledgering flawlessly out of the box. Because it was built for established, traditional ministries, it heavily focuses on "Congregational Connection." It features the "Realm Connect" app, which acts as a highly secure, private social network for the church.
